History
The name Zachéos
comes from the "Val d'Anniviers" a valley in Southern Switzerland. Zachéos was an ugly dwarf who came to evangelise the inhabitants of this Valley. Mrs Monette Daetwyler, MM Jean Daetwyler and Léon Monnier chose it to name their newly created folk dance group. This ensemble is to embody a new style, linking past and future, in order to express feeling in harmony with our actual life.
Les Zachéos should have a new style, linking the past and the future. The style choised was at the beginning the elaborated folklore and now the stylised folklore. With this form of expression, we will be in harmony with the actual way to live and to think.
